Art Analysis of The Luncheon of the Boating Party vs A Sunday on La Gra

Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The Luncheon of the Boating Party by Pierre-Auguste Renoir is a piece full of rich colors that reflect both the time period and the artist’s impressionist style. This composition not only conveys a leisurely gathering of people, but also expresses the changing French social structure of the time due to the industrial revolution. To portray these themes Renoir uses, shape, space, color and texture. Shape is seen in the modeled figures and bottles, and space is created by overlapping of the bodies, but it does not give a realistic illusion of depth. Color is most evident in the painting by the deep blue and green contrasted by the vibrant red and greens making it very rich in colour. Texture is also evident in the clothing which was emphasized by the artist’s impressionist brushstroke style. Renoir also used principals of design to make his composition more effective like balance, movement, repetition and unity. A symmetrical balance is evident because most of the subjects in the painting are on the right side. Movement is achieved in this painting by the gesture and expression of the subjects as well as the drapery on the table and the gazebo cover. Repetition can be seen in the curves of the gazebo cover, the stripes and the posts in the railing. All these elements and principals of design unify this piece and make it very pleasing to the eye. Renoir reflects the theme is this painting because the impressionist style was new to the art field, just as the advances fr...

Between the Wars

The event that had significant impacts during the interlude between the First and Second World Wars would be the Great Depression. The effect of this financial crisis, not only in the United States but also in other parts of the world, was apparent both in the domestic front and in the international community. The Great Depression started during the late 1920s and would stretch until the next decade. This historical turning-point was triggered by Black Tuesday, which was the day when the stock markets had a major downturn.(Rothbard, 2000) The impact of this event, both positive and negative, was massive indeed as the country was forced into a state of great recession and then reassessment of economic and social policies. (Mcelvain, 1993) In the ground level, the people experienced difficulties, as employment becomes scarce, thereby leading to poverty and hunger, which was prevalent during that decade. The citizens in the grassroots were the ones that was most affected, for the depres sion was deeply felt by everyone. The length, lasting 10 years, was overwhelming indeed; the extent of the crisis was equally devastating. The agriculture and primary sectors industries experienced economic slumps even bankruptcies, which in turn burdened the people whose wages declined and employment opportunities disappeared. The end of this Great Depression coincided with the start of the Second World War. The implication of the financial crisis was not only social but also political, as policies were forced to be reassessed and eventually changed. The New Deal policy was a result of the crisis. Also, government officials debated the liberal policies in economics, as many abandoned liberal economics, and advocated more protectionist policies. The impact of the Great Depression is far-reaching and vast, as it is political, social and economic. References Mcelvaine, Robert. (1993). The Great Depression: America 1929-1941. Although Teenagers Should Not Have a Job While They Are Still Student Essay

Although Teenagers Should Not Have a Job While They Are Still Student. Although many people think teenagers should not have a job while they are still students, I believe that it’s a good idea. No parents hope their children get a job while they are still student, because when their children get a job or a part-time job, it will cause their school work. Even the society think it is a good experience for teenagers to learn about how to face to dirty face while they already worked in some stores, or get good experience of society, but I think it is not a good reason to convinced me. Moreover a person says â€Å"I think that if a student can handle a job, it is a great way to earn money and learn responsibility. If a student is both well-rounded and mature enough to handle a part-time job, he or she can benefit greatly. [http://www. topics-mag. com/readers/teen-workers-forum. htm] †, I can not accept this opinion with this person, because teenagers never know it is dangerous while they work in some place or they have to responsible their job. There are three parts that I want to show you. Some students want to earn money form part-job and go to buy a lot of famous products, because they do not have enough pocket money from their parents. So they want to find out some jobs or part-jobs while they are still students. But at first, I think kids have to learn how to save money, because they always get the pocket money from their parents, they never think about the money is difficult to earn and how to earn money in the society. Even their parent already teaches them, everyday ust keep some money in their ‘Piggy bank’ while they didn’t finish the pocket money. At second, kids must avoid unnecessary expenses in their life, for example: buy a lot of toy, buy a lot of comic book, or buy a lot of TV games. All of them are unnecessary things, and keep the money to buy something useful things or plan to go to somewhere to join the trip; it is all useful and helpful things while they still grow up in their school life. Some students need to help their parents earn money, because their parents can not get a job or they are inconvenient to do something. So their children were obliged to go to work to help meet the family expenses. But I think child should focus in their school work, because when they neglect their studies, they can not get the good job in the future, and also can not learn a lot of knowledge while they had work. Some people say ‘A student has to do lots of studies in today’s competitive world to prove them. He has to spend his most of time in school to get good grades. If the student gets involved himself in job in rest of the time, then it would cause an extra burden on them.

Skill Development Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Skill Development - Essay Example The essay "Skill Development" talks about the managerial skills development through the analysis of a number of articles and books on a related subject. The process of employee motivation is very significant to any firm. Therefore, in order to get the desired outcomes, it is important to motivate employees for the work they do. This will make them more committed to their work and eventually will lead to high production and good performance. Employee motivation is essential because it ensures that human resource is active in order to accomplish organization goals and objectives. It also leads to the establishment of the friendly relationship among workers. Cooperation in any organization leads to stability and reduces organizational unrest and disputes. Employee development is also an important part that needs to be improved because I discovered that employees display job performance behaviors in part to improve their self-image, especially when their role is not clearly defined in the organization. The effect of these behaviors on managerial reward recommendation decisions should be powerful when managers believe the employees to be more committed to their work. I found out that poor performance could not be attributed to human nature but to an imperfect work system. Managers should realize that employees want self-control, self-direction, seeks and accepts responsibility, thus there was the need to have a strong employee development skill as this would establish a culture of accountability in the organization.

Text messaging to personal conversation Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Text messaging to personal conversation - Essay Example Obviously, it does make an ample difference to get in touch in a conservative manner of having to appoint time to see the other party over the modern option of considering a couple of key punches to transmit message of intent for quick access to info in return no matter how considerable the distance on both ends could get. Why indeed would a side of growing population opt for the habit of text messaging more than conversing on a personal level? Based upon experience, it is often observed that text messaging to some extent creates the equivalent of getting one to be in two dimensions at the same time. Besides saving time of travel and efforts associated with it on seeing someone in person, one could be spared of the hassle of being confronted with awkward issues the person may feel reluctant to readily address. Since plain texts are all that an individual receives on one side, he might find it very likely to give benefit of the doubt to the other whose picture of the situation is only perceived in part. The texting party also gains the advantage of editing text content according to the impression he would like his textmate to have or adjust with. So he is likewise able to free himself of regrets at erring with certain words he would later suppose should have been held back or given further thought. On considering the personal mode of communication when two persons gather in a setting instead of necessitating to confine dialogues within standardized communication protocols, it becomes conducive to exchange ideas. With personal conversation, there comes ease of comprehending details because people are involved with depth and sense of continuity as they instantly track stimuli which to respond to from each one. Whether a response is appropriate or favorable may be detected through the person’s manner of talking, tone, facial expressions, and other gestures from which to completely interpret utterances and behavior
